Abbot Kinney Engagement Photos in Venice, California
In Southern California, we have many opportunities to photograph locations with gorgeous sweeping vistas—majestic windflower covered hillsides, golden beaches with dramatic stone arches, silent deserts as far as the eye can see, and so much more. But every once in a while we’re asked to photograph in a more intimate and urban setting. For Max and Melinda’s engagement photos, the couple decided on a location with a special meaning: Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, California. Abbot Kinney is a one mile long strip in the middle of Venice and the heartbeat of the Venice arts and culture scene. With art galleries, incredible restaurants, bars, and trendy stores, Abbot Kinney is a vibrant and remarkable location for photographers and couples alike. We met up with the Bride- and Groom-to-be, first making a quick pit stop at one of the couple’s favorite spots in Venice: Salt and Straw, a top-notch ice cream parlor that specializes in crafting gourmet and deliciously unexpected scoops. After a stroll around Abbot Kinney stopping in front of a few picturesque storefronts, lovely gardens, and graphic murals, we made our way to the iconic Venice Canals for sunset!
