Malibu Engagement Session
As you enter Malibu on the Pacific Coast Highway, there are signs advertising “Twenty one miles of scenic beauty.” The word “Malibu” conjures images of sand and sea. But what you may not know is that Malibu also has majestic mountain scenery, beautiful chaparrals through the Santa Monica Mountains, and ancient California black oaks keeping watch over it all. Justin and Ross have been together for over 14 years. They’ve built a wonderful life together and their intimacy and loving energy were immediately apparent. For this couple’s photography session, we wanted to capture the various beautiful landscapes of Malibu: both the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. We met up with the Los Angeles-based couple at Malibu Creek State Park. This location is ideal for engagement photography and couple’s sessions. Just a short walk into the park, and you are met with dramatic valley landscapes and golden fields surrounded by mountain vistas. After an outfit change and a short drive, we made our way to El Matador State Beach for golden hour sunset photos. This iconic beach has been featured in numerous films and it’s not hard to see why: dramatic cliffs provide an awe-inspiring backdrop that highlights the loving and warm energy of the couple.
