Destination Manhattan Beach Wedding Photos
The iconic Manhattan Beach Pier in Southern California is a romantic backdrop for engagement photos and wedding photography. Framed by the rustic wooden pier beams and the golden glow of the Pacific sunset, this quintessential SoCal location is a top spot for photographers and engaged couples planning their engagement photography shoots in California. Situated on the shores of the Los Angeles west coast basin, just south of the West Side of LA, it’s proximity to the city make it a sought after destination for photoshoots. The Manhattan Beach Pier can be seen in a number of famous movies, from La La Land to Point Break and Tequila Sunrise. What makes this the perfect location for engagement photos is the variety of scenery all very close together. The historic pier adds a whimsical and romantic quality. And the downtown Manhattan Beach shopping district with alleys, murals, and sidewalk gardens. And, of course, you can incorporate the beach itself, which is perfect for those remaining moments just as the sun is about to set over the Pacific Ocean. We worked with Qiu and Qi to photograph their wedding portraits at this pier in the Los Angeles area while they were visiting Southern California. While they hosted their wedding elsewhere, they chose this location for its iconic LA status. They didn’t hesitate at all when we suggested a trash the dress moment, where they got into the pacific ocean.
